Tamara LYANE Tamara LYANE, Swiss and American nationality, is born in Geneva Switzerland in 1964 from a singer (Fanni Jones) and a composer (Marcel Retchitzky). Since her younger age, Tamara Lyane was "drowned" into the musical world. She studied piano at the "Conservatoire de Musique de Genève" between 1972 and 1980 and sang in the children's choir of the "Grand-Théâtre de Genève". Between 1988 and 1990, she took classical singing lessons with her Aunt Basia Retchitzka. Since piano wasn't her most natural element, Tamara Lyane decided to concentrate all her energy in popular music by singing. She worked with all sorts of formations/bands like rock, jazz, reggae, blues, classical, funk, world music etc. between 1982 and 1989 to find where she realy fitted. She met David Bowie in 1988 in Gstaadt while giving a concert in his honor with Sandro Surshok and Kiet N'Guyen. |
